Everything for processing of biodegradable waste...

Made by: Jandova

Aktualizace: 08/2009

Waste treatment technology was developed in response to the needs of biowaste producers. Wastes are processed where they are produced and this promotes self-sufficiency. Increasingly demanding environment protection laws and strict industrial standards make it expensive to process wastes off-site and the new technology of on-site processing saves costs.

Our patented technology of processing biodegradable waste supports requirements of the European Union embodied in Directive 1999/31/ES concerning storage of biodegradable waste, and the laws of the Czech Republic-Regulation No. 185/2001 Sb., concerning wastes. The EU directive requires the Czech Republic within the next 15 years to reduce the present amount of waste stored at public open storage sites by 65 per cent.

The basic principle of this technology relies on preliminary processing of waste in plastic bags without the presence of air. When sufficient quantity of waste pre-processed in the air-tight bags is collected, the waste gets mixed with fresh vegetable and animal waste (biomass). The resulting mixed mass is then pressed by a specialized equipment into plastic sleeves of 1.5 metre diameter. These filled sleeves or bags can measure up to 60 metres in length. Composting process than takes place there in the bags with controlled aeration and is closely monitored. Temperature, humidity and oxygen content are all adjusted to maintain the best bio-degrading composting conditions and the process takes about 6 weeks to be completed.

Result of composting is a product containing humus, that is a natural compost for use to amend soil. Plant remains (including those that have passed through an animal and are excreted as manure) contain organic compounds: sugars, starches, proteins, carbohydrates, lignins, waxes, resins and organic acids. The process of organic matter decay in the soil begins with the decomposition of sugars and starches from carbohydrates which break down easily and invade the dead plant, while the remaining cellulose breaks down more slowly. Proteins decompose into amino acids at a rate depending on carbon to nitrogen ratios. Organic acids break down rapidly, while fats, waxes, resins and lignins remain relatively unchanged for longer periods of time. The humus is thus a mixture of compounds and complex life chemicals of plant, animal, or microbial origin, which has many functions and benefits in the soil. Humus is valuable commodity which retains water in the ground, filters harmful substances and balances acidity.

We present a practical solution to the processing of waste from public areas, gardens and catering plants (if sorted). It is useful to know that biowaste forms about one third of all waste from households and gardens. Effective control of the composting process improves quality of the resulting product.

Composting method in plastic bags makes it possible to run several cycles of processing biowaste each year. This technology has low start-up and operating costs and functions is a way that protects the earth, air and under-ground water.
